Nicholas had his White coat ceremony in late September. His parents came up for it which was very nice to see them again and for them to see the things Nicholas is doing in his school. A few professors and the president of his school spoke and then they had each student come up and they presented their first white coat to them. It felt a lot like graduation except it is the beginning, and not the end. He also was given an otoscope and stethoscope and some more books. His whole school seems to be very supportive and excited for all of the students. I am so proud of Nicholas, he continually amazes me everyday. He manages his time so well and even though we wish we could be with him all day long we are grateful for the time we get and we sure make it worth it. He never does anything without a smile and works so hard on everything he does..I am grateful that we all get to go threw this experience together.

White Coat Ceremony
BBQ
Nicholas school had a BBQ for the families the night before the White Coat Ceremony. They had some fun activities for the kids like the hay ride and finding money in a haystack, which were both great but what won us over were the 7 little puppies that were there. They were very adorable and that was were we spent most of the night. Savannah kept trying to pick them up by herself and couldn't believe that she really got to hold them. Kate wanted to know all of their names and which ones were the girls and boys. She held on to a little girl puppy for most of the night. It is a good thing my husband was their otherwise we would have ended up with 7 puppies that night. I don't think I am ever going to be able to go to a pet store with my girls alone because I cannot resist cute baby animals. I know one day, soon hopefully, we will be getting lots and lots of animals, which Nicholas cannot wait for. We had a very fun day and it is so nice the things the school puts on for families.
PIck a BOOK
Every night the girls take turns picking out a book to read before they go to bed. This time it was Kate's turn and she had been gone for longer than usual so I had told her to hurry and she kept saying "I know mom I know I am hurrying." After about 3 times of this conversation I went into the playroom to find this sweet little 3 year old lining up some of her books. When I got in there she said " Mom I just can't decided what one to choose" and neither could I, so that night we read a few more books..
Here We Go!!!
Well we finally got a new camera and I got the pictures off my old one so I am ready to start blogging again. We have had a fun and exciting month and cannot believe how fast it has gone by.. So hopefully these following months I can be better about posting my pictures!!

Second Round of Picking Apples and Canning
Nicholas parents Nick and Susan came down for Nicholas white coat ceromony in September. We were very excited to have them come back and visit us. We also have lots of fun with them. Last time they cam we canned peaches and lucky for them they got to do it again:). We canned applesauce and apple pie filling. We ran out of apples and Susan wanted to take some home for her so we decided to go picking again.
It was raining but we didn't let that stop us, we came home with lots and lots of apples. It was very fun to can the apples and Kate and Nicholas were in charge of pilling them (which is the best job if you ask me). It went very fast because we had a good assembly line. I came out with about 14 apple pie fillings and 12 applesauces Yummy!!! I have been able to learn how to can this summer and have absoultly loved it. We are so blessed to have access to all of this fruit so it makes it very cheap. I am glad to build up my food storage!!! Thanks for the help Nick and Susan
First round of picking Apples
A guy that works at Nicholas' school has lots of different fruit trees and he let the students come and pick apples for FREE!!! So we were very excited to pick yummy gala apples to use for canning. We brought a cooler and thought it would take us awhile to fill up, but that was not the case it was fast picking and it only took about 5 minutes. It was so fun and it was nice because the apples were low on the trees so the girls could pick them right off by themselves. Something I thought was very interesting is most of the apples that we buy in the stores are grown in nitrogen rooms where they take all of the oxygen out and preserve theses apples with different chemicals so they will last into the winter. (I have always wondered how we have fruit year round in the stores). I don't know about anyone else but I do not like eating things with chemicals and they sure do not taste as good or are probably as good for you. So we were definitely excited to get some apples that were fresh off the trees and chemical free!!!
-Also I am sorry about the black border around the pictures it is our dang camera that I will be replacing in the next little while...
Riding in the BACK!!
Kate is always wanting to sit in the back of our van so on our way to pick apples we let her, and she thought she was very special. She even asked for her glasses to wear because I think it must have been more sunny back there. She kept these glasses on for the next hour and all through picking apples.
