Growing up too fast!!!!

I can't even believe that Savannah is 8 1/2 months already, her life has gone so fast. She has especially grown up this past month. She is doing so many fun things. Her newest thing that she loves is getting into our movie drawer. As soon as she sees the drawer open she goes as fast as her snake crawl will take her, As soon as she gets a movie in her hands she just starts smiling and kinda giggling it is really cute. I remember Kate loving to do this but it seemed like she was much older. Savannah also loves having us hold her hands so she can walk around everywhere. Sometimes she will get pretty brave and let go of whatever she is holding onto and try to walk by herself, which doesn't quite work yet, but maybe in a couple of months. She is at the funniest stage and I get sad to have to have her grow up (but I seem to think that about every stage). Nicholas and I were just talking about how fun it is to have a baby in the house and we can't imagine never having one. Savannah is so fun to watch grown and learn.

January

I don't know about anyone else but hasn't January seemed forever long???? This month has been never ending, But maybe that is because we have had such cold weather and so much snow. I think I am ready for the cold to go away and it to be spring, I have a long time to go. About this time of year I always get sick of winter but this year it is much worse. Hopefully it can start warming up.

This is a cute picture of Savannah wearing her snowsuit outside so she doesn't freeze!!! This picture reminds me of Ralphy on The Christmas Story.

Our Loved Prophet

Our Prophet Gordon B. Hinkley passed away yesterday. We will surely miss him. Nicholas and I read this shortly after we found out and it is very comforting to hear..................

My brothers and sisters, let me first deal with a personal matter.
The President of the Church belongs to the entire Church. His life is not his own. His mission is to serve.
Now, as all of you know, I am somewhat old in years. I had my 96th birthday last June. I have learned from many sources that there is considerable speculation concerning my health. I wish to put the record straight. If I last a few months longer, I will have served to an older age than any previous President. I do not say this to be boastful but rather grateful. Last January I underwent major surgery. It was a miserable experience, particularly for one who had never previously been a patient in a hospital. Following this was the question as to whether I should undergo further treatment. I chose to do so. My doctors have called the results miraculous. I know that the favorable results come from your many prayers in my behalf. I am deeply grateful to you.
The Lord has permitted me to live; I do not know for how long. But whatever the time, I shall continue to give my best to the task at hand. It is not an easy thing to preside over this large, complex Church. Nothing escapes the attention of the First Presidency. No major decision, no expenditure of funds is made without their approval. The responsibility and stress are great.
But we shall carry on as long as the Lord wishes. As I said last April, we are in His hands. I feel well; my health is reasonably good. But when it is time for a successor, the transition will be smooth and according to the will of Him whose Church this is.

A Morning Ritual

Nicholas has always been known as the hot chocolate lover in our home but I now think that title can easily be given to Kate. They both think because it is cold outside that they need to eat toast and drink hot chocolate in the mornings. Almost every moring I see the both of them sitting in their chairs doing just as the pictures show. Anytime Kate gets cold she says I need some hot chocolate. It is pretty funny. Kate wanted me to take a picture of her drinking and she kept laughing and then would ask if she could see the picture. These two make a good pair!!

Biggest Fan

Kate has always loved Amber (Nicholas' sister) even when she was a baby. I thought as she got older she would be more interested in her cousins and her love for Amber would die down. Well I was wrong!!! Kate talks about Amber at least 4 or 5 times a day and is constantly asking if we can go to Idaho and see Amber. (I don't think she even understands that Idaho is where all of her other cousins and Grandparents live only Amber). She likes to ask where everyone is at, so everyday she asks "where's Amber" and then thinks for a minute and answers to her self, saying "teaching school". I took a picture of Kate and Amber over Christmas and a couple of days ago I decided to put it in a picture frame for her in her room. Well today she carried that picture frame with her almost everywhere she went and would talk to Amber lie she was really there (her not so imaginary friend). She brought the picture up on my bed with her and started jumping and saying "Oh Amber I jump really high" "I jump Higher Amber" She layed the picture down on the pillow and told Amber goodnight. I couldn't believe that a picture could entertain her for so long. It is sure precious how much she loves her. Kate is Amber's biggest Fan :) ( which is always nice to have)

Here She Goes

Savannah started to crawl last week and it is pretty cute. She does her version of crawling which looks more like a snake moving. She hasn't figured out the leg part of it yet, but I am sure she will after her arms get too tired from caring her. This is pretty new and fun for us because Kate never crawled. It is sweet to watch her work so hard you can her her grunting in the video..... Go Savannah!!

Bye Bye Binkies

She finally did it!!! We have been telling Kate for about a couple of weeks that is going to throw her binkies away because she is a big girl, and she never seemed to mind. But I thought for sure she wouldn't end up wanting to do it. Boy was I wrong. That morning we told her that today was the day she walked right over to the garbage and said "bye bye Binkies" and tossed them in. We were both shocked. I think she has only asked for them once before remembering that she already got rid of them. She has had trouble sleeping but other than that she has been so nice and pleasant. She seems like she has grown up really fast since then. I think I was more sad to get rid of the binkies then she was, because she now officially a BIG GIRL!!!

Kate got to go to Build A Bear in trade of her binkies. She was in awe the whole time and couldn't believe that she was really getting to take one of these stuffed animals home. She just sat and stared at all of the animals and when it came time to choose she would say yes to everyone. After a long hard decision she finally chose a yellow dog that she named "Barney"(we tried giving her other choices but she didn't want them). Barney is a girl that has pink Pajamas like Kate and bunny slippers. Pretty cute!!

Even a couple days after she still like Barney. He sleeps next to her every night.

KSL MVP

KSL decided that since Nicholas is voted most valuable costumer they would let his daughters be in charge for a day. If only that was the truth :). We thought this was hilarious given the history Nicholas has with KSL.

Happy New Year!!!

We had a fun New Year just staying close to home. We decided that we would have our own little party with just the four of us. We lit fireworks which Kate decided to be scared of. She loved sparklers last year for the 4th of July but she changed. She held this sparkler for about 10 seconds and then kept waving it around screaming saying it was going to burn her had. Finally we got her to drop it before she caught something on fire. We had Kate drink some sparkling cider and she kept saying "party time" everytime she would take a drink. (It is one big party in our house apparently). Pretty funny. Nicholas and I actually stayed up till midnight we were shocked!! We had a flip tournament which of course Nicholas won, but I'm trying to change that. We are getting ready for the next flip tournament, so watch out. I can't believe how fast this year has gone and what a great one it has been. WE hope everyone had a Happy New Years.

Viva Las Vegas

We went to Las Vegas in December for the NFR to see Nathan (Nicholas brother) calf rope. We also used it as a good excuse to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. I had never been to Las Vegas before so it was quite the experience. We had so much fun. We left Kate with my Mom and took Savannah, so it was weird to not have her with us, we missed her so much but knew that she was having a blast with her ma Sharee. We walked up and down the strip and went into a lot of the buildings I could not believe how neat each building was and I also couldn't believe how dirty this town was. I think it is a place that is fun if you don't go to often. The NFR was really fun to go to and we loved watching Nathan rope. It was incredibly loud and I was worried about Savannah, but she loved it and decided to be miss social there. She was so easy and nice the whole time. We had the nicest 3 bedroom suite that we stayed in and we had it all to ourselves. It was bigger then our home. We loved it so much and had so much fun that we even decided to stay for an extra day. It is so fun being married to your best friend and we have so much fun together. We have been so blessed this past year to be able to spend lots of time together and we have loved it, there is no one I would rather be with. Sometimes I think that you aren't suppose to have this much fun in marriage. I can't believe how fast 4 years has gone and can't wait for more to come. Hopefully we can to this again and next time bring Kate!!

Here is our smilling Savannah loving Las Vegas.

We went to the M&M factory it was very neat. I couldn't belive how many different colors of M&M's they had.
