Magical!!!

Before....... ......And After

If I had one word to use to describe Christmas it would be MAGICAL! There is something about Christmas that is so special and wonderful that makes it the best day of the year. I know as a child I have always loved it but now being parents it makes Christmas so much better. Nicholas and I had so much fun getting ready for this day we were sad to see it gone. Christmas Eve we went to a live nativity that some people in our ward put on and it was so neat, It defiantly made it very easy to remember why we celebrate Christmas. It was snowing while we were watching it and there was the best feeling it was a great way to get ready to start Christmas.

Savannah got this doll/glow worm from my Mom and it was by far her favorite. The second she saw it she started giving it kiss after kiss. As you can see in the picture she wasn't going to let this doll get away from her. It was the sweetest thing. Kate absolutely loved her kitchen and played and played all day. She didn't even take a nap because she didn't want to leave her toys. She loved cooking things in the oven for us and it was funny to see how she how much she would imitate the things she has seen us do while we cook.

Our two girls playing with their Dad (one of their favorite things.)

We woke up and we had had so much snow we decide to go sliding. We have a big hill in our back yard that was a perfect snow hill. It was so sunny on Christmas and was the prettiest day. We had a perfect Christmas and hope every one else did also. This picture is hillarious because Kate's hat is falling off and she has a binky but our baby Van doesn't. Do you see anything wrong with that picture :)? I know Kate doesn't

Baby Shave

Ever since Kate has been old enough to walk she has always loved watching her dad shave. When she learned of Santa last year she started calling it "Ho Ho" ( I guess because it looks like Santa's beard). Nicholas always has put it on her face which she has loved. So we decided that she could try shaving with her Dad, except she would use a spoon. She though it was hilarious at first but then she became very concentrated as you can she in the pictures. I guess the reason I thought of this was because I would always do this with my dad and loved it until I got cut because I found the real razor. (I will always have to be very careful about that.) I think I will only do this once and hope she will forget. :)

Kate's First Snowman

Kate and her Dad decided to make their first of many snowmen together a couple of weeks ago. It snowed just enough for the perfect snowman. We thought we had racked all of our leaves up but our snowman proved us wrong, oops :) We improvised and used rolos candies as the eyes and celery for the arms. They fell out pretty fast and it didn't take long for Kate to figure out that she could eat the snowman's arms and eyes. It was pretty funny. They had so much fun.

Nicholas had quite the workout rolling the balls. Kate thought it was hilarious and tried doing it herself.

Here is Kate ready to play in the snow. Nicholas got her all ready and dressed, what a cute little girl she is!!

The Baldwins as Elfs

I thought this was hilarious. I especially think Kate's is funny because these are dance moves that I have actually seen her do before. We also loved Savannah's mad face in hers. Thanks Emily for this website Kate loved it.

Leaves, leaves and more leaves!!

Savannah loved being in her swing and I don't think she made one peep while she was outside.

It has been the best weather here, especially for November. ( if you can't tell this was a couple of weeks ago but I got a little behind oops :). So it made it very nice when it came time to rake our leaves up last week. Kate thought this was the best thing ever, she especially loved it when i would play in the leaves with her. We had lots of fun, except when it was time to haul them away. We love our little yard and will miss it.

Laughing Savannah

We just had our family over and I don't think Savannah gave one smile to anyone. But as soon as everyone left she decided to go back to the happy excited Savannah that we know. We think it is so funny because she is definitely not serious to us and is especially smiley and laughs at her Dad, but you would never know that. She studies people very intensely and is not giving strangers courtiousy smiles. We thought Kate was a serious baby, boy were we wrong. We recently went and got her pictures done, and of course we got a weird guy named Steven to take the pictures who would make anyone laugh that could actually hear him talk, but not our sweet Savannah she did not find him to amusing. She sat for about 30 minutes just looking at him like you have got to be kidding if you think I'm gonna smile at you. I kept telling him your not going to get her to smile at you and to just take the picture with her being serious, but of course oh Steven thought he could do it. Well he sure did something and it wasn't smile. She was in tears and couldn't even look at him for the rest of the time. So her pictures her eyes are very red and puffy. Poor baby. At least we will always have a funny story to remember with these pictures. This is the cutest video I watch it over and over.

Sitting Pretty

Savannah is growing up so fast. She is getting so strong and is starting to sit so well by herself. It makes it especially fun for her to see her sister, she loves Kate and likes to watch everything she does. I will sometimes here them both laughing at each other and come in to find Kate being miss entertainer.. It is very funny and cute to see your kids love and enjoy each other.

Packed Ready and no Place to Go!!

I had one of the sadest things happen to my family a week ago. I had been secretly planning to go vist my two sick pregnant sisters in Arizona for about a month. They had no idea, and I was so excited to go down and help them, it was going to be so much fun. I had everything planned out and ready except for the tiny detail of the flight. About an hour before we were going to leave to go to the airport I called to confirm that I had a lap child. They had no record of us being on their flight. I was shocked and didn't believe until about an hour of being on the phone. To make a long sad story short, because I was in such a hurry I didn't pick our seats out (which is the final step). So we were really sad and I especially felt awful when Kate was talking about Isaac Man and the white airplane. Some how these stories happen to me more than most people, So remeber to always chose your seats.

Hang On Kate!!!

About 3 months ago Kate finally got to where she wanted to go down this hill in her car by herself. She thinks it is the funnest and always asks to do it. It does make me a little nervous but then again what doesn't :). It is quite hilarious to watch.

Every Halloween needs a Black Cat and a Witch

We were so glad that we made it on time to this years trunk r' treat. Especially because Kate was quite into it this year. She woke up in the morning and wanted to put her costume on because she wanted her red lipstick on that I told her she got to wear on Halloween. She was in quite awe of the candy and couldn't even believe that she was being handed candy after candy. She especially loved it when someone would let her pick out two. She kept checking her bag to make sure it was still all there :). Savannah also had a great first Halloween and didn't even mind her costume. It is quite enjoyable to see your kids have this much fun. We had a great Halloween

My Two look Alikes

I love it when I can get a good picture of both my girls, it sometimes can be quit challenging. So I thought I would share some of my favorite ones. It is funny because sometimes I think Kate and Savannah look so much alike and other times I think they are complete opposites. They sure have had very different personalities so far. It makes it so fun to see them get bigger and change, I love that they will have each other. Our cute little girls.

Gymnastics

Kate loves gymnastics, every morning she wakes up and asks if we are going to "nastics." She especially loves it when she gets to do the bungee jumper. She tends to be really quite in gymnastics which isn't like her. But today she was laughing and smiling so much when she got to do the bungee jumper. When it is time to touch the floor and then jump as high as you can Kate will yell "blastoff," it is hilarious. She is such a good listener and always sits on her carpet quietly until her teacher Fred tells the class what to do next. What a good little student!!!

A Love Affair with Binkys

Since Kate was a baby she has always loved binky's. As she has gotten older she only gets them when she goes to bed, which is one reason why she is such a great sleeper. She has gotten pretty sneaky with her binky's, when she gets up she will keep one tucked under her covers without me noticing and will hide it for later in the day. She then sneaks in her room and shuts the door and suck on the binky until she gets caught. It is quit hilarious. She even has a binky dance that she does when it is time to get them and go to sleep.
But the time is coming to get rid of them so we are trying to prepare Kate for the sad day that's ahead. She is sure cute with them we wish we could let her have them forever, but it might look funny when she is at a sleep over in High School and has to have her binky's to go to bed. My Funny Little girl..

Things keep getting funnier

Normally Savannah is a pretty serious baby, especially to strangers. She will smile for us but she isn't handing them out for free, you have to work for them. Normally I can never catch her smiling at the right time for pictures. But for some reason she was wanting to show us how big she could smile today. I think these pictures are so cute because each picture her smile gets bigger. We sure love her!!

We Finally Did It

We are going to try this again!! We had a blog for all of a minute and then I couldn't figure out how to get back into it. So we hope this time it will go better for us. I decided I will write about my kids for my fist blog. Kate is 2 and is such a easy girl who always wants to do what is right but still at the same time has her Mom's determination. She loves to enertain and is not afriad to show her dance moves, I guess I know where she got that too. Savannah is 5 months and is getting more of a personality each day. She is also an easy baby who thinks that her Mom is her personal tour guide. She has learned very young that she only thinks her Mom can hold her. It is quite hillarious, but something that I hope and am sure will change as she gets older. We love our wonderful little life and are blessed with a wonderful family.
